Institutional Development Services

Aiming to provide technical support (TA)  support to the SEBC and other business support institutions, most prominently chambers of commerce and industry and business associations, the SEBC/SME Support Programme delivered a number of activities to further achieve its planned objectives.

Six activities have been launched to provide capacity building support to the Syrian Enterprise & Business Centre (SEBC). These are:

  • Brand Development: with the aim to build SEBC's corporate identity and support its visibility in the business community.
  • Introduction of a concept: to help highlight the positioning of the New Institution through the production of an informative/promotional catalogue.
  • Assess Available Management Information Systems Infrastructure and Capabilities of SEBC: in order to lay the foundation for the design of a fully integrated MIS.
  • Formulation of Adequate Policy / Business Development Plan: to enable SEBC to efficiently implement technical support programmes.
  • Study Tour to the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PAED): with the purpose to strengthen the planning, programming and implementation capacity of SEBC through networking and cooperation with similar EU institution.
  •  Performance Management Training Courses: with the aim to improve the efficiency of the SEBC staff members.

 
Five activities have been launched to support the development of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce.
These are:

  • Introduction of the Front Desk Service to the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce (FSCC): in order to provide better service delivery and better image to FSCC.
  • Development of an External Communication- Press- Media Division to FSCC: to increase the impact of FSCC’s interest representation and advocacy activities towards its network of member chambers.
  • Webpage support of Lattakia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI): to upgrade LCCI marketing and PR through upgrading its website on the internet.
  • Introduction of a Human Resources Department in Homs Chamber of Commerce (HCC): to enhance the performance of HCC through enhancing the management of its staff by the introduction of an HR department.
  • Development of a Corporate Identity and Promotional Brochure for the Management Training Centre of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce (DCC): To increase the capacity and sustainability of the Management Training Centre of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce and to enable it reach a wide spectrum of potential clients.
