The Syrian Enterprise and Business Centre organized the participation of 17 Syrian companies in SIAL Food Fair 2008 which was held from 19 to 23 October in Paris, France.

Over 140,000 visitors and 5,300 exhibitors were present at this key event for food industry professionals: food manufacturers, distributors, importers, retailers and wholesalers, institutional and commercial catering etc.

This year the participation received great interest amongst Syrian officials such as Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade, Mr Ghassan al-Eed, Ambassador of Syria to France, Ms Lamia Chakour and Director of Foreign Trade Centre affiliated to the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Mr Hosam Yusef who visited Syrian stand and were very much impressed by the organization, the design and overlook image of Syria which was displayed through the stand.

"The Syrian stand received exceptional attention and was greatly admired by visitors this year due to the unique design of the stand which was located in one of the most important halls of the fair", Mr Bassel katabi, from the Export Promotion Department at SEBC expressed, adding that Syrian companies displayed a variety of foods from oriental sweets to yogurts, canned food, grains, olive oil and flavours.
