Iran and Syria agreed to sign a free trade agreement, whose content was ratified by Tehran´s Parliament, while the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation finished analyzing projects.
On the other hand, Damascus´ Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation decided to create four commissions to put into practice means and mechanisms aimed at strengthening economic ties, trade and investments between the two countries.
Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Nidal al-Sha'ar invited a delegation of numerous Iranian entrepreneurs that visited Damascus to take advantage of the opportunities and incentives the government is offering.
The sides analyzed projects in the areas of housing, transport and industry.The minister recalled that Presidents Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Bashar al-Assad agreed, during their last meeting, to facilitate the conditions to advance free trade and other plans that will now be put into practice.
