Prime Minister, Dr. Adel Safar on Thursday discussed with the chairman and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions means of supporting the public industrial sector and of overcoming obstacles hindering the process of developing and reforming it. They also discussed finding new markets for the surplus production of the public industrial sector.

At another meeting with Chairman of Journalists' Union Elias Murad and the members of the Union's Executive Office, Dr. Adel Safar highlighted the national role of the local mass media in facing the conspiracy hatched against Syria, and in divulging its dimensions and those who are involved in it.

Dr. Safar also hailed the contribution of the local mass media in developing the performance and in enhancing the reform process and the development in Syria.

Talks during the meeting focused on a number of ideas and suggestions on developing the environment of media work and on activating the role of the press offices at the ministries.

Some of the issues related to professionalism were also on the table, in addition to tackling some of the administrative issues.
