   Syria, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon Sign Memo of Understating on Transporting Electricity- SANA 19-2-2011

Syria, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon on Sunday signed a memo of understating on transporting electricity from Iran to the three countries.

During the signing, the Iranian Assistant Minister for Electricity and Energy Affairs said that an agreement with Iraq to transport 1,000 megawatts has already been signed, and that it was agreed to increase the capacity to somewhere between 1,200 and 1,300 megawatts, part of which will be relayed to Syria and Lebanon.

The Assistant Minister said that the memo should be put into effect within the next two months as soon as the four countries' approve it.
